Emergency Management Concentration

The Emergency Management concentration is offered online at Midway College and provides a theoretical and practical approach to the public safety industry and emergency management sector.

This degree is designed for adult learners currently working in or planning to work in one of the several fields related to public safety administration, including emergency management, fire protection, emergency medical response, law enforcement, environmental health and safety, and other adjacent fields.

The concentration coursework within the online bachelor’s in public safety administration program emphasizes the fundamentals of emergency management while providing an interdisciplinary course of study that addresses skills and practices of emergency planning, implementation, evaluation and management.

The program highlights the integration of research methodology and available theories in the field; the utilization of communication skills at the personal, professional and public level; and the development of professional skills and knowledge in the fields of public safety and emergency management.
